Nazarov & The Endless Sea of Stars
The castle sits on an immense chunk of rock surrounded by a blackness that sparkles with millions of stars. Their light, and the light pouring out from the castle’s many windows, are the only things anchoring me to the ground as my head swims.
So, this is what the school between worlds looks like.
Elizabeth Raxor has been the black sheep of her village for as long as she can remember, and is used to no one liking her. The villagers. Her husband, Rancarus Raxor. They’re all convinced she is bad luck.
Kraxys Kinspell is a professor at Nazarov Academy for Evil, but he is also a demon. One of the oldest and most cruel, who was born long before Elizabeth’s world emerged from the darkness. He arrives on a small homestead at twilight with one last name on his scroll to invite to attend Nazarov : Rancarus Raxor. But he is distracted by a peculiar woman who runs barefoot into the field, sodden linen soaked against skin, to dance in the middle of a thunder storm. He feels curiosity, though he has not felt emotion in many millennia.
Seized by impulse, he forges Elizabeth’s name on his scroll too, and gives her the option of attending Nazarov. Though tuition is expensive, so she’ll be his assistant outside of class hours to earn her keep. She’ll have to keep the circumstances of her admission secret, but it’s better than staying in a village where everyone hates her, so she accepts.
At Nazarov, Elizabeth discovers a darkness within her, an aching for magic and evil. Kraxys is never far, drawn to her nature, her tendencies, and is starting to feel a myriad of emotions he thought he would never experience again.
But there is darkness deep in the belly of school, far beyond the limits of usual evil. A creature born of primordial night, who pulls strings from the blackness, and will devour worlds if ever released.
